What is Singapore’s unique identity and how do plants play a part in our heritage?

Discover the relationship between plants and people through the rich history and culture of our main ethnic groups and colonial past. Transport yourself to times gone by, and appreciate the importance of key plants that feature strongly in our culture and heritage.

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand the history of the three ethnic groups of Singapore, and the role of our colonial heritage in shaping what Singapore is today
  • Identify the key plants that are significant to the groups involved and recognise the importance of ensuring their continued sustainability
  • Establish pride in Singapore’s achievements and understand our constraints, challenges and opportunities

Duration:  2.5 hours

Venue(s): Heritage Gardens (outdoor)

Programme Fee:  $250 per group (includes an Activity Booklet for each student)

Group size:  25* (maximum)
